Description
MOTS-c (Mitochondrial Open Reading Frame of the 12S rRNA Type-c) is a 16-amino acid regulatory peptide encoded within the mitochondrial 12S ribosomal RNA locus. It acts as a retrograde signaling molecule translocating to the nucleus under metabolic stress. It is supplied strictly for in vitro AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) phosphorylation kinetics, folate cycle and de novo purine biosynthesis inhibition studies, GLUT4 expression and glucose utilization assays, and laboratory mitochondrial bioenergetics research models. Supplied as a stable lyophilized powder suitable for analytical reconstitution.
